    The coterie of national security journalists around Washington began to fear that there would be a before- and after-Hastings period in journalistic-military relations."*



    Michael Hastings death was a huge blow to journalism; very, very few reporters are as fearless or principaled as he was.

    Before his death, Hastings spoke about Obama's war on journalism- on a culture of punishment for not only reporters, but their sources.

    The culture praises sycophants and ostracizes those like Hastings who dared write critical, exposing pieces about our government officials.

    Is there a war on real journalism?
