In the past two months, fast-food workers across the country have walked off the job to push for a $15-an-hour wage and the right to unionize without harassment.

The one-day strikes have hit seven cities -- Seattle, Milwaukee, Detroit, St.

Louis, Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C.

Speaking to Democracy Now!, Ralph Nader says people across the country can back the workers' struggle this summer by pressuring their members of Congress to raise the minimum wage.

Nader says that with massive public support behind it and huge implications for the 30 million workers it would assist, a raising the minimum wage is a litmus test of our collective ability to create progressive change.

"If we cannot do this, it is doubtful we can change anything in this country," Nader says.
