The UN Human Rights Commissioner says Israel's ongoing settlement construction on Palestinian land is at the core of human rights abuses.
According to Navy Pillay, the Israeli settlements as well as settlers' attacks on Palestinians are a major source of human rights violations in the occupied West bank.
She warned that Tel Aviv's settlement activities have devastating consequences for Palestinian civilians.
The UN rights commissioner also called on Israel to lift its siege on the Gaza Strip.
The impoverished enclave has been under a crippling blockade since 2007.
