rnTens of thousands of people participated in an anti-austerity demonstration in central Madrid on Saturday.
Closer to the end the rally turned violent.
During the clashes, Spanish riot police fired rubber bullets and charged to disperse the protesters, who hurled bottles and other objects.
The police beat them back with batons.
According to emergency services, 101 people were injured - 67 of them police.
One police vehicle and windows of several banks were damaged.
