As much as a third of all seafood imported to the US is captured illegally, according to a recent study in Marine Policy.
Called "pirate fishing," many environmentalists want authorities to crack down on the practice and conduct better inspections of shipments arriving in US ports.
Tuna, shrimp, salmon and pollock are a few of the species that are most likely to have been caught illegally.
