A recently declassified report sheds light on a 1961 near-nuclear-catastrophe in North Carolina.
According to the documents, a B-52 bomber flying over the Tar Heel state broke up in mid-air, causing two hydrogen bombs to plummet to the Earth.
Multiple safety devices on one of the bombs failed, with a detonation being prevented by "one simple, dynamo-technology, low voltage switch." Ameera David discusses this and the continuation of the military's nuclear weapons mishaps with RT's Tyrel Ventura.
