A “sensitive jobs” loophole has the potential to allow the government to fire any civil servant accused of whistleblowing, according to Tom Devine, legal director of the Government Accountability Project.
Creating a national security blanket that covers nearly every federal employee, the loophole allows management to skirt traditional whistleblower protections by taking away a worker’s eligibility to handle “sensitive” information, making them no longer qualified to be employed.
Devine outlines the controversial practice to RT’s Ameera David.
