A current proposal from a board in Colorado's second largest school district reads, "
Materials should promote citizenship, patriotism, essentials and benefits of the free enterprise system, respect for authority and respect for individual rights." It goes on to say that "material condoning civil disorder, social strife or disregard for the law should be removed from the history classroom." Students and teachers are now protesting while the board calls the whole thing a misunderstanding.
