The WHO director said that an Ebola outbreak in Europe is almost unavoidable.
She added that more cases will likely be confirmed in the future, due to many people extensively traveling from Europe to Africa.
The statement was made after Europe's first case of Ebola was confirmed in Spain.
In addition to the nurse who contracted the disease, four other suspected cases have now been placed under quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus.
The current epidemic, which has killed almost 35-hundred people, is the worst outbreak of the disease in history.
