The United Nations is to review the US human rights record amid growing unrest over the deaths of unarmed African Americans at the hands of police.
The Universal Periodic Review will focus on issues such as racism, mass surveillance and the legacy of Washington’s so-called war on terror.
Diplomats from around the world are expected to raise questions about the incarceration of undocumented immigrants in the US, their conditions in prison and the continued use of the death penalty.
Washington's mass surveillance systems will also be reviewed during Monday’s public debate.
The US delegation will face questions regarding CIA's torture report and Washington's failure to close the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.
