Saudi Arabia has launched fresh airstrikes on Yemen, violating a ceasefire minutes after it took effect.
In the latest attacks, Saudi jet fighters targeted the provinces of Lahij, Hajjah and Sa’ada despite the five-day truce which began at 20:00 GMT.
Riyadh had warned of striking back at any violation of the pause moments prior to the implementation of the truce.
The halt to the air campaign is aimed at allowing humanitarian aid to reach the war-stricken civilian population.
Earlier in the day, airstrikes claimed the lives of nearly 140 people ahead of the ceasefire.
Riyadh has been bombing Yemen since March 26.
The attacks have killed more than 37-hundred people, mostly civilians.
Meanwhile, the U-N cultural agency has condemned severe damage caused by Saudi bombardments to heritage sites in Yemen.
