Afghanistan is threatening a crackdown on U-S military contractors who, it says, owe hundreds of millions of dollars in back taxes.
Kabul says it may freeze the contractors’ bank accounts and refuse to renew their business licenses.
It has also threatened to take the case to the Interpol.
Tough measures including travel bans for executives could also be imposed for companies which refuse to pay taxes.
The U-S has disputed some of the payment demands, saying companies have been exempt under military agreements.
The targeted military contractors provide aid to NATO forces.
The Western military alliance has nearly ten thousand soldiers in Afghanistan.
