A coalition of Democrats in both the House and the Senate have introduced legislation that would raise the federal minimum wage by the largest margin in history.
Led by Bernie Sanders in the Senate and Representatives Keith Ellison and Raul Grijalva in the House, the proposed legislation would bring the minimum wage of hourly workers to $15 an hour.
This is the most ambitious increase that we’ve seen, and is a full $3 an hour more than President Obama’s proposal of $12 an hour.
